I got a 65 chev last month drove it home 45 miles
but there is a bad dent in the driver side fender can t be fixed found a 1 ton with good fender does any body know if there the same
it looks like it might it just have bigger suspenind

his there any home reamaties to clean rust out gas tank or is it worth the money to get it steam clean as soon as i put new gas in my line and filter kept getting plug im running new line to a jerry can for time being

has any ever put air suspend on there truck i want to all wood with it but thr old coil sag real bad or maybe just the block of wood treatmeant

Welcome and I love your Name.

My .02 on your gas tank. Having tried many short-
cuts to cleaning tanks in cars,trucks,Atv's, and
even ski-doo's, YOUR best bet is to remove the tank
and flush it out real good (I usually throw in some
marbles and slosh them around). I just use water
from a hose and then dry the tank real good....new
line and filter and you should be good to go.....
you'll Thank yourself many times over for taking
the extra time and efforts...it will pay off in spades....and if you have additional engine
problems, you have already eliminated the gas flow
question.

In fact, driving home 45 miles, you did "some good".

Try fixing one or two little things every day or
so, and in six months you'll be one happy camper.

There are few gas tanks that can't be cleaned. Many jobbers sell kits that include a cleaner (phosphoric acid), neutralizer (ketone) and a coating. I did mine using muratic acid (the same stuff used in swimming pools), baking soda water to neutralize the acid and Redkote sealer. There have been some extensive threads about this very subject. I'd advise using the search function above. Welcome to the bolt.

That one ton fender should fit just fine, the main differences are in the suspension and chassis equipment.As far as 'bagging it goes, I ahve seen it done on '64-'72s, the suspension os similar on those models. I'd suggest that you check out Air Ride Technologies. They seem to be the major manufacturer of air suspension in the aftermarket.

I just recently took my tank out of my 59 and took it to the car wash and power washed it with hot water and soap. then rinsed it, sprayed the inside with w-d40 and put it back in filled it up and put heat in it to get any moisture out. no problems yet and its been a couple weeks. You won't believe how much stuff will come out of your gas tank.

Those Tires are no less impotent than the kids school supplys, that is foe shure.

Well I spoke to soon thought the tank was clean but it has been about two weeks and the rust is back so I am giving up and buying a new tank tommorrow.

I just bought a new tank for my '54 GMC. I figured it was a whole lot less trouble than fooling with trying to clean the old one and only cost me $160.00. Now I know I won't have any problems with "junk" from the tank clogging fuel lines.
