Last friday was rough, but ended up being worth it. Had a load of scrap from my grandfathers farm over at the scrapper under the Mckinley bridge in north Saint Louis Mo.

Pulled up at exactly 12 noon, time for their lunch break, I think, darn just my luck another half hour of waiting after fighting traffic to get there. Then a rollback pulls up with a baby blue 61 short bed(62 hood), passenger door/cab and 2 foot of the bed were smashed pretty bad, but other than that the thing is cherry.

I ask, How much are you getting out of it, he says 300.00 I know scrap wouldn't have brought that much, but they made him come up with the title for it so I doubt it would have met the jaws anyway.

Long story short, I got 84.00 for the scrap I brought this truck for 300.00 with keys, title, good 6 cyl with part of the original blue flame sticker still in tact.

ticker shows 21k miles, its gotta be accurate, the wood bed is still all there, not even rotted, the interior is almost perfect minus the little duct tape on the drivers seat. All glass in tact. New tires. With a battery and some fuel the engine runs. Original spare tire as well.

He even had the old battery with the individual white caps on it, but discarded it and the gas tank.

My question, What year cabs and beds will match, or can I cut up for replacement panels.

I found 1960 to 1963 seems right, but don't know a whole lot about these trucks(yet)

Anybody around STL have a parts truck cheap?

your correct, 60 thru 63 cab and doors will fit. 60-66 front fenders are the same. 60-66 fleetside bedsides will also fit. If the cab corner area behind the pass. door is the only damaged area to the cab you could use that section of any 60-66 cab to cut out and replace the damaged area as the back half of the cabs were all the same. God bless, Mike

Ah thank you very much, didn't know the beds were all the same, but I noticed the 64's got rid of the curved glass. The front clip looks to be cherry

WOW! That is a great score, I hope that it turns out to be an easy fix so that you can get it back on the road. Good luck, sounds like a great truck.

58,

I'm in Chicago and I've got several passenger side doors. I might also have a cab for you.

When I go back up to Saint Louis next weekend I'll snap some off and post them here, or if I can get my family to take some and email them I'll have them up sooner.

I'll be in chicago this friday, I'll have to catch up with you Brian

Just send them on into me for a Gallery submission (I'll need you name, too). But as far as regular hosting (if you have a LOT of them), check in the IT shortbus to see who most folks use (Webshots, etc.). I thought someone today had a photo account with Google but I haven't had a chance to check it yet.

Good story. Need to send some of those pictures in. Here\'s how.

Pretty nice '63 you have there. Let me know if you'd be interested in parting with that grill. It would look sweet on my 66 short stepside!

My dad is the original owner of a 1987 SS Aerocoupe. They are cool cars. Hopefully they will be worth some $$$$ some day. I have already told my brothers that I get that car when Dad goes with God.
