Hi,

I am trying to convert to a blazer rear-end, the boltpatern is exact the same as on my stock chevy46 wheels but the brake-drum is in a odd shape so my wheels don't fit.

Any advice ?

Thanks

You need to get under there and find out exactly what's causing the problem. You may be able to cure it with a spacer plate or maybe some washers to move the old wheel outboard a bit. Or worse case have your old rims modified by a wheel shop.

Can you put in some backing plates? not the best option, but you might just need to get the wheel way from the drum a bit... if the blazer has disc brakes, the wheels might be dished out a bit more. ( i had that problem with an Oldsmobile a while ago )

Another quality post.

Most likely what is happening is tha wheel is hitting the brake drum on the outer fins of the drum. I had a similar situation a few years back. My brother-in-law had a flat on his Blazer, but no spare. Well, I let him use one of the tires from the '55 as it was bare frame at the time. The wheel wouldn't clear the drum.
If you want to keep the stock appearance, you might consider using a 16" wheel, otherwise you'll need a wheel from a '73-'87 4x4 to clear the drum.
