It is my Dads, he bought it in 1962 (a year before he had me) in Eastern Oregon. I'll be bringing it to New Mexico later this month. It had the 265 V8 and HydraMatic trans, chrome bumper/grill. It has a sun visor and the small rear window. Now the question. The bed rails measures 8' 4" long. It has 6 bolt wheels, 123 1/4", wheelbase. I've read about beds at 6.5 feet, 7.5 feet and 9 feet (1 Ton). Anybody else have this length bed or know where I can find some more info about them? If you don't have a shop manual or assembly manual or owner's manual for your year, those are usually some of the first items you might purchase. They would give you more info about the bed and answer a thousand other questions you might have. In '57 there was a running on the 3204 (123 1/4" wheelbase pickup) from the 7 1/2' box to an 8' box. this change was made around March of '57, the same time that the factory 4x4 was introduced. From your description, I would say that it's a late '57. I would suggest that along with a shop manual, you get an assembly manual and a catalog from Mar-K. It sounds like you've got yourself a nice one, ecpecially with the v-8 and hydro. You'll have to get some pix in the gallery when you get a chance, cuz we all want to see it.

Dad went out and put the tape mesure to it for me last week and came up with the 8.4" mesurement. He said he ran the tape down the bed rail. I will know more once I go pick it up, and will get some more pictures then. I did post some pics yesterday. Thanks for the info, this site is great. Scott | | |
