I'm re-assembling the 55 Chevrolet car rear end on my 37 1/2 ton pickup and wasn't smart enough to mark the left and the right axle. All I know now is that one is longer than the other and one is shorter than the other. grin By now you know my question, I'll bet! Here it is: Which side does the short axle go on and which side does the long axle go on? I hate to admit that I didn't mark them and that I don't know, but it's true!! :o

Thanks,
Joe smile

Take the long one and insert it ( whichever side you want.) If it sticks out too far, then it goes in the other side.

Or take the short one and if it doesn't reach, put it on the other side. wink

Thanks guys for the comments. Good thinking, Cletis!! grin

It's one of those things that if you've never done it before, you just need a few pointers to steer you in the right direction. The best way was to actually try the two different axles in the various spots until they worked. Simple when you do it, but not until you do it!

Just remember you have a 50/50 chance of it fitting.
