Thank you for your response. When you installed your big block what motor mount brackets did you use? Where you able to use the stock brackets from the small block or did you have to mount new and re drill? I'm running a sm420, What flywheel did you use? Did you run into any problems that made your hair fall out? Do you have any hair left and should I run from this swap? I don,t know what mounts they used but it looked all factory. It had an auto trans. It was a good clean swap but it was front heavy & the handiling wasn,t very good especially for as strong as it ran. I would rather put in a good strong small block with aluminum manifold & shave off 100-150 pounds.

I didn't install my 454 but from the looks of it, they took the mounts and perches, as I call them, from the donor truck and welded them to the 63's frame. As far as the trans goes, I have a TH350 behind mine but I think a small block flywheel will bolt up, but don't quote me on that. Call a Chevy garage and ask some of the older guys there, they have done about everything imaginable to the big and small blocks.
I don't have much hair left but it's not from my truck. It should be a relatively easy swap with some minor engineering to make work.
