Would probably be more durable in the long run. I've seen some pretty thick coatings my friend used on his frame, that stuff is bullet proof. The powder coater who did it mixed some colors and it came out super close to match.

Make sure to get the UV additive, though, so the color stays right.
You could also use stainless steel strips and just have the bed sides lined. That is what I'm thinking about doing once I get a box back on mine. | | |
