Hey, can someone tell me if the front & rear brake drums are the same? I have a 66 C10. Thanks.

I don't have a late model truck but feel that the set-up is the same.
Your rear drums slide over your wheel studs and cover your brake shoe assembly. Wheel slids over and bolts to that effectively trapping the drum to the backing plate.
Your fronts are a bit different. They have inner and outer bearings that slid over the spindle which has a big a** washer called a keeper that is then trapped by a big a** nut w/ a cotter pin. That nut is not torqued down but tightened to JUST take the play out of the wheel but allowing it to turn freely.

you can use the drum on the front or back if you cut the ribits off of the front drums so the drums comes apart from the hub. they should be the same. Did my 63 that way so would not haft to take the hub off to look at the brake shoes every time when check them for wear.

250, I didn't know that frogs could hold them on that tight. I'll cut the 'ribets' off. Seriously, looks like you might have a solution. It makes sense. I'll try that. It just so happens that ndnchf gave me his front drums after he converted to disks. Thanks ndn, see, I knew they'd come in handy.
