Got a question from Bob W --

I have installed a Klaxon horn (AAOGAH type)-- it has the same sound as a "Dive - Dive" sub horn used in WWII. I want to know anything about this horn - Google results are very fuzzy. I do know it is a Klaxon 20L horn. That is all I know. It is not original to Chevy trucks, but I have it mounted / working. You can hear it for miles in the WV "hollers".

Thanks,
Bob W.

Bob,

I put one in my 66 and I can't seem to drive it anywhere without tooting it at least once. Mine's one of the newer ones you can get at most local auto parts stores, not the old ones like yours. Have fun with it.

Smoe more info on the horn: Manufactured by Lovell-McConnel / Patent date 1908 Newark, NJ
I am guessing it was for early 1900 cars. It is six volt and very heavy. Any horn experts out there? Thanks, Bob W.

I'm amazed at the knowledge these folks have.

I have a modern one as well, I think people expect you to have one, especially when you get the blow the horn signal.

Does anyone know if the klaxon was even put on Chevys? I have an original but I think it came off a Ford.
