After I install the new rear-end in my truck Wednesday, I'm going to have it towed over here in the next couple of weeks - my great uncle is going to tow it with his '69. There will be pictures!!!

You got it, we want pictures!
That's nice, getting the old C10 home, you're making good progress with it. Did you get a windshield yet?

Have fun

No! I was very close to getting a windshield for it, already out of the truck for 40 dollars. When I went there to buy it the guy had us walking all around the junk yard looking for it - he had left it for "safe" keeping between two trees. Well we found it - just the corner of the wrap around - people had been cleaning up his junkyard and pulled it out and broke it - probably just to break it, too.

After we found the remains, he repeated a statement he said earlier in the day - "Yep. Those windshields are real hard to find."

I might have a few other leads on one though, a fellow called "Bones", for whatever reasons I don't want to know, may have one.

Everyone knows that "Bones" is a doctor, not a mechanic! (Well, except for Jim.) grin

I'm sorry to hear that Tom, but [censored] happens. You'll find a new one, things tend to come on their own, if you let it happen. (is this English?) you'll get the idea I guess.
Just hang in there and keep at it.
Don't fotget the pictures smile

***Hahaha! That's exactly what I thought, too!

***Yeah, I know exactly what you mean! That's actually really how the rear-end came to me. I just suddenly had it, without even realising it! So, I hope the windshield will come to. The guy who I got the rear-end from was putting a five lug rear into the truck for another fellow who picked the truck up for $50 from a junk yard. I was so jealous!!! It was in remarkable shape, some bed damage, and no engine or transmission, but most of the body and cab were perfect.

There will always be a better one ( according to its owner), but there will be only one that's yours! And that one will be, strangely enough, just the way you like it smile
Keep at it, make updates for your page and add pictures please smile
