It was leaking from a crack in the hose. The petcock seems to tighten down OK to cut off the fuel from the tank , but my question is: how much fuel can I expect to run out of the line when I disconnect the hose? Will it just be whatever is in the fuel line up as far as the fuel pump, or will gravity drain the line all the way to the in-line fuel filter and the carb? | | | | | Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 586 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 586 | Hi,Use a pair of vise grips or a C-clamp to pinch off the hose.This way you can control some of the flow.You shouldn't loose much.

Bring the old one with you.

sorry NM51 but i believe...
be sure you spend the big bucks for a really good fuel (high pressure--injected system) line and DON'T buy the cheap fuel line, it will only over time crack again.
this modern gas we have eats the rubber over time due to the additives.

I think the modern cut to fit fuel line is made for the modern gas and will rot at the same rate, but since you'd only save about $10 it might be worth it to wait for the pre-cut pre-made chevy duty line. The sponsor of this site might carry it too...
