Are there any classic car parts suppliers in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area? I can't believe a metroplex this big doesn't have any listed in the phone books. I need a door lock for a '53 Chevy truck.

Scroll to the top of this page. Click on "American Classic". They are located near Denton. They have lots of parts, good service and good prices. Plus they are a sponsor of this site.

You folks need to wander around the 'bolt some... everything isn't in the forums. smile

click on 'links' at the top of the 'bolt... then click on 'parts'.

There is no counter service at American Classic though. There is an antique car parts place where i have gotten some bits: Antique Auto Supply 817-275-2381 on 1225 colorado lane in arlington texas. email [email protected] Open mon-sat 9-6. Has all kinds of old stuff and is a real 'grotto'. Give them a call.

I would like to find a place with counter service. This shipping is killin me.

Arnswine....the email for the place in Arlington gets a failure notice. I even change the falstlane to fastlane and still nothing. If I try to call the place the line is always busy. I also went by there about a month ago and it didn't look to by in busy...does it always look that way?

mariojb - yer in the wrong hobby then. smile

Every hobby has a catch, and the big one in ours is... the parts are way over there, and we are way over here.

NAPA and some of the other big box stores still carry and can order a lot of the mechanical parts like brake stuff, engine stuff... but specific stuff like door handles... yer gonna hafta bend over or wait until there is a big swap meet near ya with some of the traveling vendors.

grin

I have been in there and the phone is going pretty constant and its just one or two old boys in there. Just go over there. Its an olde style place. That or the swap meets that are coming up. A number of suppliers for our trucks will proably be at the FT Worth show. There is also a greenville tx showing between now and the FT Worth one. End of April will be Pate and plenty of them will show up at that one.

I don't think I have evern seen American Classic at the local shows, and not only do you pay shipping but since they are texans, you pay tax as well. So I haven't used them except for one manual.
