(its a 64 chevy) and anything else that i should be aware of?

Get the one with a "self exciting" regulator and the only wire you have to connect is the big red one. After running 1 wires for years, I started converting to internally regulated alternators and doing away with the external regulator. The conversion only takes a minute.
