Why do some members of this site have more than one "handle"? Sometimes Joe Blow will post as "dinkydo", next week he will show up as "cockroach". I just saw a post in a forum from someone that has been here from day one! Now he is a "newbie" with a different handle and posts that number only in the teens. Is there some reason for this that I'm to naive to comprehend. I am "me"..I don't need to be anyone else. Stuart | | | | | Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 549 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 549 | Originally posted by atomarc: Is there some reason for this that I'm to naive to comprehend. Stuart Stuart, or was that atomarc? | | | | | Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 5,067 Authorized Pest | | Authorized Pest Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 5,067 | Stuart, You can change your screen name without changing your other info. It'll confuse people, that's for sure. Also ... we've had one person who has been signing in using names very similar to other people. So, that's pretty confusing, too. Then, we have the people who forget their password or that kind of stuff. They get a little anxious about posting and end up just re-registering. When some people register, they don't have their firewall enabled to allow their password to come thru. So, we see a lot of Stovebolt, Stovebolt-1, Stovebolt-2, etc. registered one after another from the same person. But, they eventually send us an email and we try to get them on. When I come across double registrations (when I do gallery additions), I usally ask the person if we can delete the newer one. It just makes more sense to have one so everyone knows who you are. That's the idea about all this. But I must confess -- my screen name was once "Mommy Dearest" but that was when we had the "old lounge." You remember them there days? So, now ... since I get so much email, I figured they'd better know who Peggy M is. Who is she by the way? Does that help some. There's just getting to be a LOT of people in here any more. AAMOF, I use to keep an Excell sheet for a while with a persons real name and their screen name so when they emailed me, I'd know who they were. Shoot, I gave up on that about six years ago! Plus, now I can claim I'm too old and I forget a lot Peg

But I am not interesting enough for someone to steal my name and post as me.

Then you could create a Topic, and start one heckuva argument with "yourselves" just to draw attention.
I'll just stick with one. I'm confused enough as it is.
