I'm swapping a Sag 3 speed o/d onto my 26l. Would it be wise 9or necessary to add a transmission crossmember to support the tailhousing even though the tranny doesn't support the engine? Thanks.

You could if you wanted. But i have never seen the need as long as the driveshaft was balanced well and not some homebuilt hack job.

Hi, I did this swap a couple years ago into my '55 chevy 2 door sedan. I did not install a crossmember and, to date, no problems. I would not go to the trouble.
