i have a question about a bell housing off of a '64 GMC V6. will it fit a 292? like..bolt right up? the 292 has an auto tranny on it now, but reverse is going out, and as far as i know, the tranny is ok. so is it feasible for the switcheroo? thanx in advance.

Sam.

1969 K20 , with a '67 front clip. fleetside. 292, 3x1 offy, headers. sm465 4spd. getting put back together, almost ready for paint.
doing it all myself.

"proper" is so over-rated.

If I remember right the bell housing off the older GMC V-6's bolt behind the flywheel much like the 216,235and 235 straight sixes, so no it won't fit.

No, if I remember right the older GMC V-6's bell housing mounted behind the flywheel like the 216, 235,261 straight 6's.
