For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 1,682 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 1,682 | I met up with a guy who's looking for 1940 fenders for a GMC truck he says is a 1 and a 1/4 ton.. and this truck is supposed to have I guess 16" tires on it.
My question is, did GMC use the same size fenders on all their trucks in '39 and '40? If they used larger fenders for the larger trucks, at what size did they start using them?
If it helps, he says his 1 and a 1/4 ton truck has dulies on the back.. anybody know at what size dulies were used?
an idea is only stupid if you think about it rationally.

From what I can tell, my 1 ton is basically a 3/4 ton with heavier rear springs and larger rear brakes and 17" wheels. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that the rear fenders on my 1 ton are the same as 1/2 and 3/4 ton. One fender for 1/2 and 3/4 tons and another for 1 ton and larger. | | |
