I met up with a guy who's looking for 1940 fenders for a GMC truck he says is a 1 and a 1/4 ton.. and this truck is supposed to have I guess 16" tires on it.

My question is, did GMC use the same size fenders on all their trucks in '39 and '40? If they used larger fenders for the larger trucks, at what size did they start using them?

If it helps, he says his 1 and a 1/4 ton truck has dulies on the back.. anybody know at what size dulies were used?

an idea is only stupid if you think about it rationally.

FWIW, My Canadian 1940 GMC is a 1 ton model 9400. I don't believe a 1 ton was offered in the US that year. From what I can tell, my 1 ton is basically a 3/4 ton with heavier rear springs and larger rear brakes and 17" wheels.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure that the rear fenders on my 1 ton are the same as 1/2 and 3/4 ton.

Fumbling, my 39-40 GMC parts book shows two different front fenders available for the 39-40 AC series trucks. One fender for 1/2 and 3/4 tons and another for 1 ton and larger.
