I think that you guys should make a stovebolt.com lisence late that we could get our screen names put on. How fun would it be to see one at a car show and be able to walk up to the owner and say hi. It would also be a good way to get your name out there. I would love to put a "FORT KNOX" plate on my truck for shows, it won't win but I will sport that plate the whole weekend long. And if you are lucky enough to live where front plates are not required you could have it on the truck all the time. Anyway, I would buy 2 and I suspect that if you could get anything you wanted written on them people would buy a lot of them. Now lets hear some replies! They will do it if nough of us reply, come on guys I really want a pair of these things!!!!!

If not plates maybe one those plaques like we use to hang down from the rear back in the 50's..(The Black Knights)I think you can still get them with what-ever you want engraved on them, I dont recall where I saw them advertised.................Fred

You allready can get a Stovebolt.com licsence frame at The Hoo-Ya Shop I've got one for my '59 when it rolls out of the shop.

Design one or use the generic Stovebolt ? Art Deco
or Advance Design etc !!!

if you had a plate like I made ya Fort, you could just put the stovebolt frame around it - your handle, your state, your affiliation - what more do ya need?

I'm sure if ya'll can find someone to actually make the plates, something could be arranged - know anybody in jail?

How about this one? 554by4 Great idea, I am going to order the frame and see if I can get the 554by4 from the DMV. My father is an investigator for the Nevada State Prison system (maximum), maybe I can get some inmates to work up some plates for us! I had some body work done by the inmates (read: murderes) there one time. Its amazing that they pay them an hourly wage too. That's where your tax dollars go here in the good ol USA!

Didn't notice before Fort Knox that you are from Seattle. I lived there for 10 years before I moved to FL. I miss Seattle, it is like no other town!

I am actually from the other side of the mountains, I live in Pullman. But I am moving over to the other side here shortly now that I am done with school. Washington is a great place to live.

Pick the liscense plate, pick the custom design, then select empty plate and go for it. I did this design just to show you how you could cut and paste letters and graphics and did it in about 5 minutes (granted I am a nerd):

They have a nice set of tools that work with your web browser to add text and pictures. Use ADD GRAPHIC for a picture then click on the picture and push it about where you like it. Use ADD TEXT for lettering. I mooched the stovebolt engine from our web site.

Now for the bad news, at least in Texas, you are required to have a front liscense plate, but its not universally enforced. And you are not allowed liscense plate frames, although its also not universally enforced. However, nothing is keeping you from using one at a car show, or just displaying it elsewhere on your vehicle.

And the weird thing is, on my jeep, an antique vehicle, in Texas you are only issued one plate. However, you are not supposed to drive those vehicles except on way/to from show/meet and in parades.

I woud buy one (or two) as well, but we need to use our screen names so that next time I have a weekend mini-vacation to Windsor Onterio by way of Washington (the state), I will be able to not only wave to my fellow StoveBolters,but know there names. This is better than Lions Club.

I am glad that someone understands my idea finally!! This would be the coolest thing ever, and every time I went to car shows I would be looking for those stovebolt.com plates on trucks. darn that would be cool! we nned to get some others on board but I think it would sell well in the Hoo-Ya Shop. Come On People!!!!!!

cliff - i appreciate the attention paid to the fact that i live in the state of washington. one of my biggest pet peeves is telling people that i am from washington and then having them ask what its like in the capitol city. thank you for noting that i am actually from the state of washington and not the district of columbia. I WANT MY LICENSE PLATES!!!!
