My book only says they should be opposite one another.
I put my motor togather acording to the manual and ran into all sorts of problems along the way. The manual doesn't address shims, torking bolts, or clearly addressing timing marks. I was going to take my truck out last sunday but insted I bent some rods. | | |

Bent or broken pushrods sound like wrong installed cam (timing) or fu..ed up cam gear. The fiber geares are prone to break. get a aluminum one next time.
