I took another way home the other day and noticed an AD panel that might go well with my 2 ton. A while back there was a thread about using a newer chassis salvaged from a light roll that would end up being less expensive than a complete restoration. So, my question is, will a '95-'05 1/2 or 3/4 ton chassis fit under an AD? The S10 would but I need something heavier.

The late model full size chassis are to wde to fit under your panel very well. You can update the stock suspension to handle most any thing but the heaviest work. There are also many aftermarket suspensions out there ranging from less than 500 dollars for a basic kit to several thousand for much fancier units. It is often a compromise, between form and function to try to swap in an entire chassis fro another vehicle. Thats not to say it cant be done and done well. Its just not as easy or cheap as a lot of folks try to make it seem. The S10 swaps work fair with these trucks, however they always look crowded in the steering box radiator support area. Good luck and Happy Bolting Jay

I'd be interested to know more about the conversion. What is the S10 rear axle rated at? Also, can the 4.3 V6 be converted to a carb and distributor? I'd prefer to stay away from electronics.

Thanks

Rdbates,

Can't answer your question about the frame conversion, but you should be able to convert the 4.3 V6 pretty easily. That set-up is used in marine applications very frequently.

My 87 SeaRay has a 4.3 V6 that's carb and if I remember correctly, HEI distributor. It's rated "stock" at 190 H.P. set up in that manner. I believe the FI version of the same engine was rated at either 205 or 215 H.P. can't remember for sure which.

Either way, I would think you'd be able to accomplish your drive train solution fairly easily.

That's not bad hp for a smaller V6. Thanks for the info.
