Anybody seen Sam Fugate around? We've got an email for him here at "the office."

Thanks,
Peggy

Mark,

Thanks. Someone is interested in the Diamond T.

How's the Blue Grass anyway? If it's like around here (well, grass in general - hay in particular) -- there isn't much of it. Gonna be a long winter.

Hey John and Peg... I guess you heard about the KY Horse Park landing the World Equestrian Games in 2010?

We got a Christmas card from our old buddy there at the horse park. He's a bachelor so his card was really a letter talking about all the *doings* with this arena stuff. Same ?? -- where's the money for this!

He lives in our old house in Georgetown (Kentucky).

Didn't realize he was at the horse park.
I could have looked him up while we were there the other night (took the kids to see Southern Lights...)

Mark,

Oh. We are not there any more. John use to work the Southern Lights -- he was at the Draft Horse Barn. It always was pretty! And the two horses we have we adopted from the KHP.

And ... John got his '49 2-ton while we were in Georgetown.

51 KY 3100, I live between Clays Mill and Harrodsburg Road just north of New Circle. I work for the state as a facilities engineer. Our office oversees capital projects (design and construction) for many state agencies, including KHP.

The KHP arena has been in the long-term plans for some time but construction had not been funded. The design is essentially complete (design money was funded in a previous budget). I expect this project will have a high priority in the budget to be enacted this spring.

Where will the money come from? Last budget the legislature effectively maxed out the credit card (i.e. funded almost all of the construction projects from bond funds). Don't know how the budget will shape up this time... we don't see much advance information in our office. The agencies submit their project priority lists which eventually are distilled to the governor's proposed budget, which may or may not be what actually gets approved by the legislature.

But I highly suspect the KHP project will be funded.

I'm not sure if this facility is expected to pay for itself (don't laugh... some do) or will be subsidized.
