I,ve been surfing around here at the stovebolt and so many of you guys talk bad about repro fenders. Are they really as bad as you say. I've never had experience with aftermarket fenders and so I'am just curious. lets here some stories good or bad about the aftermarket body parts you ordered.

the current crop of repro sheetmetal is mostly made by an outfit called Dynacorn - they've gotten the original engineering info from GM and did the dies properly w/ high tech modern techniques - in the 'bad ol days' 5-10 years ago, much of the sheetmetal may have been poor, but I've seen the new TF 55-59 parts [fenders and doors] and am impressed - have heard a number of folks who've used'em say they're great - put new steps in the 58 last summer, and the quality is #1 and heavy material - bodyman next door is doing a 68 for a guy and new front and stepside fenders are excellent for that series as well - most of the AD stuff now is the same company

watch out for fiberglas fenders, mostly take a lot of fitting

Do they have a URL?

I'd like to know if they do Art Deco Fenders and running boards.

I'm having problems finding NOS or used ones that are worth a darn.

Dynacorn International - pdf catalog you can download, and a link to a CDN branch, but all their stuff hasta come from dealers I believe - haven't seen where they're doing the deco series stuff yet, they seem to be working forward, not back, and focus a lot on muscle cars

Brendanm,

I've got a set of fiberglass on the rear of my 46, from Jim Carter's. If you didn't know it, look beneath them, or give them a good thump, you wouldn't be able to tell they were glass.

In my opinion, they are of very good quality, and visually you'd never notice a difference between them and the original steel on the front.

I think you're gonna have an awful hard time trying to find NOS or as you said; "used ones that are worth a darn". IF and when you find them (for a 46), you're gonna be paying MUCHO DINERO!
