hiyas.

my dad has '53 chevy truck, with the chevy/gm 16 inch wheels, which were an option back then... my question is, will the 1/2 ton hubcaps for sale on all the vendors sites fit on this wheel?

I'm guessing that they will, since the center part around the lug nut holes with the clips and all that is more than likely the same and so forth... but I thought I would check with the AD('47-'55 1st series) guys in here, anyway.

thanks folks.

16" was standard on all 47-55.1 1/2 ton pickups. Any of the vendor hubcaps will fit. Jim Carter's are nice.

Wooger The guys covered it, but....speaking of hubcaps, anyone actually have a set of original 47-53 series 10 for a 51 Chevy 1/2ton for sale? I've been placing notices in other sections of the Stovebolt Page but no luck so far. I have a set of 55-56 Ser. 10 for trade if you are interested. I believe they are originals and not out of catalog. They too fit the 16"rims which are the ones I have on my 51

Thanks

Wooger - Any luck yet on finding your hub caps? As I've mentioned, I'm looking too for my 51 and have some other sources beating the bushes (that's small "b" not big "B" you guys). I'll keep you in mind if I find any. The originals are scarce but, as 50GM pointed out some of the repros are pretty good. I've seen a pair of the Classic Auto Parts replacements and they are real good knockoffs. In their mag they even advertise them as being "Just like original, not the 'cheap-o' skin or shell" type.

I was just checking, cuz my dad mentioned something about hub caps, so I wanted to make sure the same caps would fit the 15 or 16 inch wheel. Pop is kinda startin' a collection of parts... maybe one day he'll do something with them. hehehe.

Hey Wooger, pack up the Pops and head down to Moultrie come February. Won't be that cold down this way. Check with Obsolete Chevrolet in Nashville and they will bring a set with them for you to scope with no commitment to buy.
