yes on AD, next series is TF - "Apache" just means light truck, 1/2, 3/4, 1T and was used in marketing from 58 to 62 or 66 - bigger trucks those years were Viking's and Spartan's

no there's no CDN cruncher, but Scotts catalogs have some info on CDN numbering in the back
the 55-7's still used the 13xx series designation, which changed in 58 to the US series style
58-9 Chev #'s are this pattern:
1st # =year [8 or 9]
2nd,3rd#'s = series [31short 1/2 or 32long 1/2, 36 3/4T]
4th, 5th = model [04 p/u, 05 panel]
6th = # of cyl [6 or 8]
remainder= sequence #
so 831046xxxxx would be a 58 short 1/2T 6 cyl
my camera has started refusing to wake up - doesn't take the first picture half the time so I just take the first picture twice
