I bought 2 new braided ground straps (long and short ones) but I'm not sure where they should attach. Any ideas?? Steve | | | | | Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 1,682 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 1,682 | My '42 2 ton (235) worked great with a braided ground from the battery directly to the transmission.. I added another from the engine to the frame just for good measure.
My '46 1/2 (216) ton has a single ground going from the battery to the bell housing, and seems to work just fine.
I've learned in my limited experience with 6 volt systems, you can't ever have too many solid grounds, or too big a gauge battery cables!
an idea is only stupid if you think about it rationally.

I was able to locate the correct locations per my manual covering '64-'66 model years. Good luck. | | |
