Picked up a nice set of AD bumper guards this weekend but the chrome is rough and pitted badly. The steel is good. I want to get the old chrome off and then paint the guards white to match my bumper. Can this be bead blasted to remove it.

I have a prouduct made for removing nickle coating from guns that I got from Brownells gunsmith supply. It comes in two - one gallon containers that you mix in equal parts and place the part in overnight. It works on guns and I have also had good luck with chrome spurs that I restore. I remember that it cost around $40.00 when I last got some 3 years ago. That should fix you up. Brownells is online and their shipping is fast. I am sure that they can send to BC.
