This is on the 1947 truck that I have recently purchased for restoration. Is this a hood ornament from somthing other than a chevy truck?

I've seen other AD trucks with those Buick hood ornaments on them. Don't know if the factory ever used them, or if it was just a popular add on.

Postal Welcome to the bolt! Looks like you have a good project there. I like the mirrors on your truck they are just like mine. If you ever get rid of them let me know.

Postal, welcome to the Bolt! Your ornament is a combination of two one of them the lower half looks like it's from a 49-50 Chevy, is the insert in the lower half red? The upper part is late 40's Buick. The Buick part is called a bomb site.

Here's some pages of hood ornaments to look at.
http://www.lepoix.de/index_hood.htm

The bottom is from a 49-50 Chevy car, my 52 has one on it.
