My 64 has stock rear gears. The differential doesn't have its tag or anything so I'm not sure how to tell what the gears are.
Help?
I'm putting a saginaw 4speed in this rig. How will this get along with the stock rear end?

It should say on the ring gear what the ratio is.

At least, that's what I'm told.

If you don't want to screw around with the rear end, you can jack the back up and spin the wheels and count how many times the driveshaft turns vs how many times the wheels turn. That'll give you your ratio, too.

The Transmission should play nice with the differential.

I never thought of that driveshaft-to-wheel turn ratio. Thank God for a few good truck enthusiasts.

With one wheel jacked up, count the number of driveshaft revolutions per two revolutions of the wheel for the ratio.
