Upon opening it to clean it, the inside appears stuffed with a horsehair like material, looks sorta like wood shavings. Is that supposed to be there, or was that the work of the critter who also deposited some dog food nuggets in there? Theres no oil residue in there, either. Sure looks good though... Mine calls for 50wt oil. Brian | | | | | Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 Riding in the Passing Lane | | Riding in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 | There is a line showing the oil level. About a pint on the standard size filter. We always used 30 weight oil back when that was the only kind of air filter there was. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing. 1972 Chevy c10 Cheyenne SuperIn the Gallery Forum | | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 19 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 19 | Thanks, fellas - that settles my mind, i saw there was no way to open the innards of the thing, and now I also see the oil line. I gave away a 68 Volkswagen bus I had a few years ago, and it had an oil bath filter. Must be losing my memory, and I am only 44, LOL!! Garry. | | |
