For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 466 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 466 | Installed the Pertronics Ignitor on my '57 283 with a '74 distributor, in my '55.1. Only problem was the holes in the little shim washers were a 1/2 hair too small. I opened them with a drill bit. Easy installation for a novice. Just need to remember to reconnect the vac advance tube (and the vac tube to the tranny that I did not realize I pulled off). All is well in the Great North, it is running smoother than ever.
The BIG question is why does my speedo work now? Before it wandered all over the place, now it is rock steady???

That happened to me while installing a stereo once.Happy mistake! | | | | | Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 324 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 324 | | | | | | Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 15 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 15 | Yeah I installed a Pertronix ignition on my 56 GMC w/288 V8 a while back and I was pleased beyond words at the difference it made.(Discovered my coil was bad in the process, but I still think the module made a difference.) | | |
