Hello Everybody, I am a new member here and a new owner of a RUNNING 1942 1 ton 4X4. My neighbor is leaving the area and made me an offer I could not refuse (is this the greater fool theory?). So, now what? Anybody have a source for operating and shop manuals for this old darling? I tried a search engine and it only came up with, pardon me, Dodge Army trucks. I am guessing that there must be a source out there somewhere for these WWII trucks.

If I can get this truck cherried out I plan on painting it in the manner of General Patton's Third Army trucks; i.e. "Hell on Wheels".

Any source info would be greatly appreciated.

1964 Ford 1 1/2 ton (anybody can make a mistake),

I can't help you much but I would sure like to see some pictures of it. I've got a soft spot for 4x4's. Welcome to the 'Bolt and join right in with the questions and the info,

An old truck like that, be nothin but trubble.... You'll end up with parts spread about the garage, parts in the dishwasher, parts in the oven, parts at friends... trubble!

and the most fun you'll ever have to drive grin

Here\'s a parts truck for cheap money. We'll get your cylinder index up there in a hurry.

eBay is you best friend. Keep checking there regularly. Check out Faxon and also Johnson's auto literature websites. Check your local truck show swap meets. These guys dig stuff up all the time. youy actually may have better luck because you have a big truck, not as many guys have the need for that literature. Get tyogether with the Army guys at the truck shows. They'll be the best resource for your type of rig. grin
