but i found some stuff that was a sticky foam backing, with aluminum foil ish stuff.. it was about 1/8 inch think.. i think made by frost king, for drainpipe insulation.. will this work the same??? | | | | | Joined: Jun 2003 Posts: 331 Member | | Member Joined: Jun 2003 Posts: 331 | If you phone a roofing supply store they should have peel and seal.I used this as sound deadner with a double layer bubble wrap with foil on both sides. They use it for isulating of walls, pipe and many other uses. I am very happy with the results | | | | | Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 399 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 399 | I found mine at a RV center..They use it on the tops of trailers/RVs | | | | | Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 363 Member | | Member Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 363 | That drain pipe stuff is fantastic, I haven't been able to find it, can you please post the name brand and where you found it (store and location in the store).
A friend of mine covered the entire inside of his plymouth sedan with it and it was as quiet as a new cadillac.
I like the pipe insulation a little better than the bitumen roofing stuff cause it doesn't have petroleum distillates in it.

Condensation is inevitable wherever you have a metal surface, and if your deadener holds moisture in anyway, you've given rust a giant foothold.
Something to consider!
