My '51 3100 gets about 14,000 tp 16,000 miles put on it each year, pulling the Teardrop Trailer and all my Dutch oven cooking stuff. Up till now I have done this with the 216 engine. This year I decided to put in a little bigger engine so I went with the 235 with a little work done to it. I'm also installing disc brakes so that I don't have to smell the brakes when I'm headed downhill.

Nice looking truck! That's a lot of mileage each year. I get cramps and sore joints doing 1500 miles in my cramped cab! What are the wheels, size, and are they 6 bolt?

nice truck except for the color dual carbs look good, thought about installing them on mine, hate to mess with it though because it runs great as is.. thanks for the post and pix...........Fred

What's wrong with the color? If your rig is nice enough to paint red,I'd go for it! I think it's an awesome truck,and that trailer is a cool piece too. BTW-has anybody tried 3 singles with progressive linkage? I've always thought that'd really be the good looking trick set up;the homely trick set up would be a small 4 barrel.

Olblu49, I am running P225/75R15s all the way round. The wheels are 6 bolt and I don't remember what the brand is but they are from the local tire store. The only time I don't get cramps and sore joints is when I'm driving that thing.

Joker, What is the red you used on yours? Mine is GM code 70, Torch Red.

Speed, I thought about the 3 carbs with progressive linkage but have heard too many horror stories about keeping them tuned and synchronized. I may try it on the next one.

Kels, glad you picked up on that,, speed missed it,not sure what code red mine is,, it was painte over 8yrs ago when I bought it,,held up good, been out in the Tx weather all this time till last yr, finally got it in the garage, sometimes it looks red and sometimes it looks red/orange,,,regards..Fred
