prolly not the springs - try closing the hood w/ the springs off, if it sits right, the problem is worn hinges - springs job is to make opening easy and hold it open, and they always exert a tension on the hinges so worn pins react to it that way - bad springs mean hood doesn't stay in the open position - repro springs aren't spendy and the repro hinges should be available, they are for other years
