The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area General Truck Talk Your opinions are needed

Hi guys,
As many of you know, there is a concerted effort underway to draft a strategic and operational plan for the proposed Stovebolt Global Relay, to be held in '07. What is the Relay about? John put it this way: "The intent here is to create an event that is national/global in nature, but is essentially a series of individual events that feed into each other."

I'm asking everyone to throw some opinions in down in the Relay Forum. I have some specific questions posted there already; the only thing I'm asking for right now is thoughts, ideas, and opinions.

You don't have to know anything about strategic planning, so please don't be shy. I'll be asking for more ideas from you about specific topics as the written plan moves forward, but for now, let me just say THANK YOU in advance. See you in the Relay forum,

Yea, Lets keep this relay alive and growing. I am working on an over the road truck just for the relay. I am also a planner, but there is nobody to plan for here in eastern New Mexico. See you in the Relay forum.

I have been in construction supervision for about 40 years plus and have put together some very expensive building projects, some in the $250 million range. It takes a lot of cooperation from everyone involved even when they are gdetting paid. When you are dealing with volunteer labor it is VERY hard to get everyone cooperating. From the spotty action there has been for this project it will be next to impossible to carry off. There are many car clubs around, I'm in the Inliners and we would be glad to lend our support for the Central Valley in California. I would also volunteer to help with supervision and putting it all together. There are lots of guys in the Stovebolt forums, hows about EVERYONE getting behind this thing?

I have put in about 12 solid hours on the beginning of the strategic plan (I finished my 'real work' early this week). I'm hoping to turn a first draft in to Brad by the end of next week. There has been a lot of really good input so far.

If either of you would like to look at what's been done to date and make corrections or suggestions, I'll be happy to send you an advance draft for review. Thanks for the encouragement.

I'm new to the Stovebolt exeprience, as I just recently got "Sweet Pea", a '48 GMC 1/2 ton, so I haven't heard of the '07 plan. I'll look for the relay forum....idea formulating....Sounds good to me, and my wife is always ready for a road trip...
