For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 145 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 145 | Just today I registered for "Stovebolts". I am 67 years old, retired Navy, retired from the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in Washington State and love old Chevrolet Trucks, Teardrop Camp Trailers and my 17 year old Son.
My Son loves all the above stuff also.
I own the following: '50 3600 Factory Flatbed (my Dad bought it new) '51 3100 P/U, rebuilt daily driver w/235 ci. '53 3100 P/U, Junk and I'm gonna get rid of it.

You should slap your "junk" '53 on the swap meet section of this site.. one mans "junk" is another mans treasure!
an idea is only stupid if you think about it rationally.

LOTS of good information to get from this site, and great people here to discuss "Stovebolts" with! I am also retired military (Army), and close to my second retirement! Mine is a '56 3100 which is shown in my profile, and in the Gallery. Look forward to seeing pictures of your "fleet" of Stovebolts. Again, welcome aboard. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2002 Posts: 102 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2002 Posts: 102 | Kelsey, Army vet here. Seeing "Newbie" reminds me of the first time I heard that word. I just pulled up to my barracks in Aderdeen, Maryland, got out of my car and everyone in the 3 story barracks was at their windows shouting "Newbie, Newbie, Newbie". I'll never forget that. If I wouldn't have been AWOL I would have got back in the car and left. It did work out OK. I was in for 3 years, got out in 78. Welcome.

We've all been "newbies" at something at some time or other, so you are in good company.
Just watch out for John Milliman. He quite often comes 'round in the garage (like he owns it!) and, if he sees any of us doin' something he thinks we ought no be doin', well, him bein' a Marine, he'll just shout, "Drop and give me 20!"
Pay no attention, just go about yer business. If he persists, make signs actin' like you can't hear and speak, and he'll go 'way mutterin'.
Now, about that business of a junk Stovebolt! I've got an idee. See, it you were inclined to send me the '50, then you could keep the junker, and you would still be down to two trucks, if that's yer goal.
Seriously, you and your son are are lucky men. Hang onto what you want, put up the junker on the Swap Meet (especially, if it is a decent "parts" truck for door handles, glovebox cover, knobs and doo-dads, you'll have some new friends in no time.
Just watch out for the name "Rodney" wantin' to buy or sell you something. That hawnyock really got a bunch of folks all riled up the garage. 'Course, he don't come 'round here no more. Last I heard, he's in jail.
Most everybody else you meet here will be a good friend real soon. Just don't try discussin' religion or politics with your new friends. John don't stand for any of it.
By the way, where in heck are your pictures?
Uh,oh! Gotta go. Here comes Joker, nee Fred.
