I am the proud new owner of a 1950 3600 chevy. I love it. runs/drives great. Next step, any tips on the best companies for insurance? I'm going to drive it every day since it's my only running vehicle. Plus, need insurance to get plates. Thanks.

I had a 55 second series through Geico and I currently have a 57 3600 through them and they are pretty good ... and fairly priced. See if they can do you any good ... and congratulations!!!!!!!

Got mine with Hagerty(.com). If you need full coverage, they're great. My Dad and a bunch of my buddies use them. Me thinks All State even farms classic car insurance out to them. Not sure how it'll go if you tell them it's a daily driver...might wanna leave that out if you can. Good luck!

Congratulations Jerod, on your recent purchase. I was wondering what might have come out of your trip on Sunday, since I didn't hear back from you.

I've got both of my trucks insured through All-State. No appraisal needed, just have to be able to prove it's worth what you say it is, if something happens to it.

In my shopping experience, most of the collector car insurance type places wont cover a daily driver. They require that you provide them with an appraisal, and limit the mileage and use of the truck. The ones I talked to also required that it be kept under lock and key.

Depending on your situation, that might also create an issue.

I work through an agent up in the Louisville and Lafayette, area. She's great. Never met her face to face, just does everything over the phone. If you want the information, send me an e-mail.

I hope that you can make it down to one of our cruise nights (in Brighton) so I can take a look at your new toy.

Regards,

I got mine through my regulay guy at State Farm. Occasional use only though. $163.00/6 months, but I've got a total of 7 vehicles and 2 houses through him, and a clean driving record.
