I have a 46 Chev 1/2 ton 115" wheelbase and am restoring it. I checked the specs on the frame/chassis stripped and I'm getting 2 different lengths. Stripped frame is 171 7/8 inches and stripped chassis says 184 inches. This was all under 46 Chev truck specs out of the same book. Does anyone know the actual length completely stripped as I have to weld on an extension on the front end as it's been changed to a rack and pinion system and the length is very critical.

I'm confused what you are looking for but if you tell me what you want measured, I'll go out and measure my '46 and let you know the results.

The 3100 bare frame overall length is 171 7/8". What they call the stripped chassis is the flat face cowl chassis, which has an overall length of 184", which must include additional equipment on the frame. If you don't have a resto pack, you can check out the chassis and frame dimensions here. Unfortunately, the pictures/drawings aren't very clear, though.
