For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 2,897 Socket Breaker | | Socket Breaker Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 2,897 | And I found out where some of the AD trucks are hiding. They had what looked like a rolling chassis w/body of a '49 chevy 5 window cab in there. Had displays in the bed and all around it. I found it more interesting than most of the clothes...

I got a model of an Old Navy AD for my birthday. I'm in the process of converting it to a flatbed. 1948 3/4-Ton 5-Window Flatbed Chevrolet 34 Years. Now with a '61 261, 848 head, Rochester Monojet carb, SM420 4-speed, 4.10 rear, dual reservoir MC, Bendix up front, 235/85R16 tires, 12-volt w/alternator, electric wipers and a modern radio in the glove box.

It has a new chrome grill and bumpers but the rest of the truck is gutted. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 1,181 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 1,181 | The store in New Orleans, even has a plastic/resin dog up on the pass. side glass (panting).

Think of all the doors, fenders, hoods, bumpers, wheels, etc. we would have! (Not to mention maybe a couple pair of jeans)

Looks like it's built out of pieces of maybe ten or so trucks... Any of the local "Montana's" restaurants I've been into have late forties-early fifties Ford F-1 or F-2 trucks stuck up in the ceiling over the bar area and old Ski-Doo sled above the entryway. ...Apologies for using the "F" word, hope no one has a stroke as a result.
