My wife found this on one of her quilting pages. The burma shave ads always take me back to being a kid and driving with Dad. I am just barely old enough to remember the last of them.

So now I have a signature line...

Still have them around on a couple old roads, also have the barns w/tabacco (mail pouch) ad's.

Thought about one time learning how to do the Mail Pouch Barns, there is really good money in it. There is still a Gentleman from the state of Kentucky that does the barns.

When I first started in college, our professional fraternity sponsered an antique farm power and machinery show. We filled the entire parking lot for the University stadium with antique farm machinery and on the road leading into parking lot, we placed recreated Burma Shave signs with our own slogans. They were the hit of the show. We got more comments about the signs than anything else at the show.

A couple of years ago we checked out a documentary movie about the Burmashave ads from the library. It was really interesting.

Yeah, I saw that too, Cletis. It was good. Reminded me of being a kid on trips with Dad.

Oh, and after posting something to George over in the "Dammit why won't you guys look at this?" thread, I decided to change my favorite jingle. Besides, this one is the same year as my truck.

There's a nursery here in San Diego called Simpson's that's got a bunch of 30's - 50's Chevy trucks scattered about the premises. There's also a bunch of cool old trailers and a couple of big barns with restored trucks and cars and nostalgia.
It's a really big nursery so it takes a few seconds to drive by on the old 2 lane hiway. They've got a bunch of the old Burma Shave signs to read as you go past. Really cool place.
