but. i'm wondering on this very discussed topic, which would be the best for..
a.)reliability (cold starts, etc)
b.)performance (yeah. you know..lol)
c.)gas mileage (its not getting any cheaper!)
alright. i really wanna get rid of the monojet. so...

headers will come. i think hedman. because they're cheap...and i think will do that job. but we'll see. but yeh! i'd appreicate any input from you guys alot. thanx in advance.

1969 K20 , with a '67 front clip. fleetside. 292, 3x1 offy, headers. sm465 4spd. getting put back together, almost ready for paint. doing it all myself. 19 and lovin' it. "proper" is so over-rated. .later days. .sam.

It's the same as what I have on mine...except that I run a Carter 625....just cuz I had one. It runs super...starts well and helps cure the monojet cold-bloodedness.
I haven't noticed anything negative from running the larger carb at all. I haven't checked gas mileage but then again with 4.10 gears, I don't expect a lot.
You may have to do some forming and fitting to get the Offy manifold and Hedman Hedders to work together. I did. I had to grind a lotta material off the bottom of the intake and also the "bolt-on" plate near the #1 cylinder. But after a little adjustment here and there it works out pretty good. I sure wouldn't wanna go back to the old carb and exhaust manifold.
Btw, you may wanna consider a Pertonix or HEI to replace the points. But then I'm prejudiced against points. I went to Jim Carter's. He has a new intake maniford that bolts on and a nive holly carb that work very well. The problem is that the old exhaust manifold interfeered with the manifold, so on went a set fo fenton headers. The intake then gets warm water from the heater circuit.
it is working very well, but it did cost....
