I was editing the Where in the world page this evening when I lost my connection to the server. When I logged back in and tried to restore the file, half of it was missing.

I've restored the file from backup, but the backup was fairly old, so a number of new entries are missing. (I've since written a script, which I am now testing, to create nightly backups as well as remote backups.)

Please check the world page and if your entry is missing, submit it again by going to the Where in the World page and re-entering your data.

I'm planning on converting the page to a database-fed php page so entry will be easier, but I haven't gotten that far yet. If any reading is really good at database design and wants to advise me, please email me at geek@stovebolt.com.

I'm fairly new here... what's the "where in the world" page???

Well, Larry Bear -- The "world" page just started out somewhat of a lark. We had quite a few folks from different countries and we thought it would be interesting to see just where Bolters were from (world-wise). Then, we joked around a bit about having our local Bolters ("local" as in USA / Canada / Australia -- where many Bolters are) sign in to see just who their "Stovebolt neighbor" was. Never know when you might need a hand putting in a 216 .

We never automatically put people in there because their email address is included and we figured someone could scam 'em up. Now, we were doing this when a lot of the early "spamming" was going on. Now the spam blockers, this doesn't seem to be as much of a concern.

And we have been amazed how huge this page is!! AAMOF, we need to "chop it up" (kinda like the gallery pages) in order to make it manageable.

But that's the history of that page. And it's been fun -- except for more work for Paul

If I could find a driveable Bolt, Id most likely buy that too just to cruise around while doin!

So, is something supposed to happen when you click on the "Sign me up, Geek!" button?
I've never had that work for me. I click it and it just stays on the same page. And if I right click on it and Open In New Window, the same page comes up.

If nothing happens when you click on the link you have Javascript disabled for our site. As an alternative, you can go directly to
http://www.stovebolt.com/world_info.html and fill in the form that way. I prefer you use the form rather than email me because it preformats all the html so all I have to do is copy and paste.

I just added a direct link for those who have Javascript disabled.
