Get a Ford.

even if the truck stays as is on the S-10 frame , i'd still like to remove the lid...

Once you cut that roof, that's it! It'll be pricey to have a pro handle it for you. But it's your truck, so do as you see fit.
Did I say that out loud?

i have two skilled bodymen who have used my ideas on their cars , a '72 riviera with front and rear roll pans some frenching on the lights and bumpers removed , and a '70 javelin with a chopped roof , custom roll pans and reworked wheel wells, ladder bar susp,
so the ideas can become a fairly easy project to tackle if i were to undertake it , and the person the '45 came from has his bodyguys that love their old iron and fresh ideas ,
so we'll see , for now i'll ask alot of wierd questions blurt out a few crazy ideas and focus on getting the cab mounted to the S-10 . please be patient with me and as i get along with the project i will keep lots of photo's of the truck along the way , | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | OK OK....how many 1945's were built.
