Well shortly its time to get the Old 15" Artillery Rims back from being Powder Coated!Lookin New Again. The color being OXBLOOD by Sherwin Williams.

The rims are 5.5 inches wide from inner lip to inner lip..

I fell in Love (Sorry Only With Tires) This time!!! LOL

The tires are DiamondBack SE tires at www.widewhitewalltires.com How wide of tire canI use on this rim? Without looking real tall and narrow? I would like to buy Radials.

Your opinions count, let me know which size you would choose and maybe why you would choose this
size... Also will these tires seal onto the rims do you think? Or can I even use Radials on them since finding tubes here in Reindeerland may just be a zero chance.

Hi CF,

I just put 16" radials on my truck without tubes. My tire guy told me to try it without tubes as he does not like them or recommend them unless the rim won't hold air without em. So far, they have worked great. The ride is super. My old tires were out of round from sitting so long. New tires made all the difference in the world. As far as the size I went with, 215 85 R16 worked out pretty close to the diameter of the old bias ply tires I took off. I know you are working on 15 inchers so I can't help other than to say go close to what I got but in 15.

I just bought tires for my 1950 GMC.

I have asked many a tire company here for 6" by 16 tires and they have never had them. 6 1/2" inch was the narrowest. I found some on the internet and ordered them at a good price. I was a little surprised when they arrived to find they were from India. Still they look like good tires.
