Just though I would let you all know...
I got the engine back from the machinist. This would be the original 216 for the '40.
Now it is thirty over. Does that get me close to a 100 hp? From 78 hp? Wow! feel the power!
Let see, I gave the engine to the machinist just before Thanksgiving 2004. Man that was fast!!!
Good thing I was busy with the cab painting. lol

Kevin-

Glad to hear you got your engine back. I didn't have to wait that long for mine, but still had problems being patient.

Now, I hate to rain on your parade, but a stock 216 bored .030 won't give you that much of a HP increase. But, what else are you planning for it. Real HP gains come in cam, carburation, exhaust, etc. My 235 was bored .030, and from my calculations made it a 239. Not enough of a difference for 22 HP.

Did you pay most of the money up front? Thats usually the reason most jobs take a long time. At least you got it back. Cecil.........

Keep at it! Before long you will be priming the engine and starting it up for the first time.

Once I get the rest of the parts, and get everything painted, I will be asking you guys for tips on priming and startup tips.
It's been a while since I started a new engine up for the first time.
Thanks!
