I have never seen so many acorns in my life, can hardly walk in my yard, we always have a few but really a bumber crop this yr,,,,,,,

I would kill for an acorn crop like that. Up here in Wisconsin, where it is 80 degrees today, our oaks in my hunting area hardly produced and acorn. Consequently for me the deer patterns have changed an the little buggers relocated. Looks like I will have to do the same if I want to get a chance at one of the big bucks running the area.

Already got his girlfriend earlier in the year and just so happend to have the 55 up hunting that day, see below.

Chris, what are you doing shooting the fawns? shouldnt you let them grow up a bit.. you must have gotten 15 to 20 lbs of meat from that one..

Acorns? give me a break!!! Glad that Chris showed a photo of his truck being used as a truck, except for that dead thing on the hood.You outta do something about that Chris,it's gotta ruin the gas mileage and draw flies.

Only new bikes , front drive cars, lawn maintenance equipment,boats and snowmobiles are banned Vintage bikes,cars,airplanes,locomotives, tractors share a common interest with old GM trucks.

My 91 Kawa isn't vintage, but it does share one thing with my 'bolt. Neither one of them particularly cares what gear it's in when you start. They'll go anyhow. Does that count? I also use it to fetch parts from the autoparts store.

Nice truck but not impressed with the photo. Maybe one day they will allow deer to use rifles too! Sorry.

Man, you run a tight ship around here. :rolleyes: Oh, I used the '49 to tote my generator and the compressor to the run-in shed raising over the weekend. Man, did you meet Harry Zimmerman when you were here? You should have seen Harry whipping out those notches on the rafters with a framing square and cutting them (perfectly) with a chainsaw. Circular saws and speed squares are for sissies, I guess.

John,sailing ships are fine so is traditional barn building and steam powered mills,rear drive cars,the only front drivers are old Miller race cars and maybe a Cord or two.

So if I put that Eldorado drivetrain in my Stovebolt, I can't talk about it here? How about if I mount it in the back? What if I put in two, one front one rear? One thing's for sure. If I did that I could say whatever I want because nobody could catch me!

I like the picture of the truck and I don't mind the rest of the photo either. I for one am not prepared to give up meat. Around here the deer are thicker than fleas on a rabbit, and when the corn is harvested, they start moving, usually across the roads. Since we did away with all the wolves and cougars and such, we owe them keeping the herd numbers down. Otherwise they'll be starving, eating our gardens and ornamental plantings and making the roads more unsafe.

So back to the truck. Next time you use it to bring home the bacon, call me when you fire up the grill. I'll be right over.

I have been deer hunting since I was a kid, my dad got me started. I prefer archery hunting, more of a challenge and it evens the playing field a little more. I can respect Olsub49's opinion, everyone is entitled to their own. My family will go through at least three deer a year. We have sausage, brats, weiners, smoked sticks, ring bologna and burger made up. A lot leaner and lower fat than beef and when cooked right tastes better. I plan on taking the 55 hunting alot with me. I only put the deer on the fender for the picture and it went in the bed on the trip home.

Man you can have a lot of fun in an old stovebolt.

Chris: I am hoping to sneak out soon and take a picture of my big boy that's traveling the back fields and my yard.

He is a very proud muscular 8 pt the rack is perfect but there is an air about him that makes this buck very majestic. To me getting a picture is just as hard as hunting and believe I truly used to enjoy that. Ben
