Also paint (grill is body color on 54, ivory white on the 55). The model badges on the sides of the hood are also different. Those are the main differences, I believe. | | | | Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 34 Member | Member Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 34 | Thanx for the input. The one I'm lookin at has a chrome grille, but the rear axle looks like a later model truck 12 bolt. I'm pushing cob webs outta my brain here, but a Hotchkiss is a front loaded diff isn't it? I mentioned this particular truck before. Now that it's cold and snowy here in SE MI, I'm ready to pitch an offer. It helps they have a for sale sign on the house too... | | | | Joined: Jul 2000 Posts: 571 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2000 Posts: 571 | Here's a link to a pic of my 55 1st "pumpkin" 55 1st Series rear axle | | | | Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 34 Member | Member Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 34 | Yeah, that's what I thought...definately not what's in this one. While I say "truck" 12 bolt, it looks very similar to a car 12 bolt (if I had a $1 for every one I've seen...), and granted one can only lay on wet grass so long before just acceptin' it's been changed. The 6 lug axles got me scratchin' my head.
Laroke...thanx again for your input. | | |
