Had fun test driving the the truck today. I wanted to make sure the driveline and brake modifications worked. The power disk brakes were impressive. Here's a video (3.8 MB Windows Media Format)

Thanks, guys. It's so much easier to work on the electrical and mechanical things without the fenders and doors. Now that I know everything works, I can install those little accessories.

Yes, we live in Langford. When we were looking for a house, Fran liked Broadmead. I just laughed; could you imagine what the Broadmead people would say if we tried a stunt like this? Not to mention painting cars in the driveway... Anyway, nobody seems to care what you do out here.

Ha ha ha.. I WAS going to say Langford, but thought I would be a bit more diplomatic and go with Westshore just in case. Ya, you would get a few dirty looks if you tried that in Broadmead!
You can't be that far from me.. been out here 10 years. I'm on the northeast end of Langford Lake.

Fredo: we are in "Thetis Heights" (Bellamy Rd). We bought this place 10 years ago, too.

Mechainiac: The engine sounds much worse in the video than in real life. Someday I will figure out how to do audio/video editting. The engine is a 1962 low mileage GM replacement engine(1962 Mr. Goodwrench?) So it has the hydraulic lifters.
I am surprised you didn't give me a shot about the high idle speed - I set it up so the battery would charge faster and the choke cable isn't connected yet.

Really cool video!! Was that laughter at the end? It looks like a pretty nice machine. Out there in BC, you can probably drive like that all winter!

Oh yeah. The cops. Hmmm...OK that was a trick video; the incident never really happened. Nobody would be dumb enough to break the law and then put a video of it on the Internet. That's why the camera operator was laughing.

Worked on a 51 for a friend in Broadmead and he lived on a dead end street but you would be surprised at the amount of cars that came by and gave us dirty looks for doing truck things in his driveway. Almost like an underground telegraph was spreading the word. Heck even here in Oak Bay they don't seem to care or haven't yet.

Ooops forgot to mention that I am envious of all of you who saw that video. My computer can't or won't let me play it. Drat!

Kind of hard to tell with my monitor's resolution, is your truck gloss gray, or primer? :confused:

It's light blue DuPont Centari paint. The 14" rally wheels are temporary. Eventually it will have 15" wheels and stock hub caps.
