You might regret this.

Note! Kids don't try this at home...just a joke. Tony, why store the engine? The GMC engine will get finished,in fact I bet the truck is running again in a few months.I sold the engine for 1500 bucks, that will pay for about 2/3 of the GMC lump, maybe Plus I keep the Clifford intake and 390 Holley for Ebay fun. Did ya notice all the green coolant on the wooden barn floor? Guess I missed with the catch bucket. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2000 Posts: 1,586 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: Jan 2000 Posts: 1,586 | Here's a photo of the crude stuff I do sometimes.See how I adapted the 37 pedals to a later clutch housing, scrap steel, some weld,a few bolts.Been working smoothly for 7 years, good enough Alley Oop pedal mount | | | | | Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 4,066 Bolter | | Bolter Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 4,066 | pulled one out of half-ton international under a big oak tree with 2 come-alongs,,that was a fun deal, took a while but did not have engine host and to cheap to rent one but it worked,,Fred Redryder pixMy HotrodA veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard, or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to The 'United States of America', for an amount of "up to and including my life."I am fighting cancer and I am winning the fight | Pain is part of life; misery is an option. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 1,745 Member | | Member Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 1,745 | That is a lotta money. I didn't think it would fetch that much. In that case I wouldn't store either.

I don't really know, the 261 has maybe 180 HP, maybe less, maybe more. The 302 will be in the same state of tune as the 261, but the 302 has a better breathing head, and 40 inches more displacement,so 225 HP for the 302? I'm doing this just to do it, I have to be busy all the time ,life is too short for sitting and drinking beer or watching TV. Tony ,ya couldn't duplicate the engine for $1500,even if ya had a rebuildable block. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 4,066 Bolter | | Bolter Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 4,066 | sounds like a winner, wish I had your skills..you know a lot of guys do stuff just cause they wanna or could Redryder pixMy HotrodA veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard, or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to The 'United States of America', for an amount of "up to and including my life."I am fighting cancer and I am winning the fight | Pain is part of life; misery is an option. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2000 Posts: 1,586 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: Jan 2000 Posts: 1,586 | I'm not all that skilled as a mechanic,I have what some call a photographic memory.I see ,I remember, just duplication. My mind is an endless video,I can't forget what I want to forget. It's like the Curse of the Wolfman at times.
